About the Blog
hi, i'm celeste i made this blog for working on my gentle comics habit. the last rule says to post to a blog, but, at first, i didn't have anywhere that felt right for that. i didn't want to post to social media and clutter my media tab. i didn't want to make any new accounts on social media. and i didn't want to feel like i was spamming a certain discord server with my daily comics. so i decided to make an actual blog.
but, after checking out so many sites, trying to find alternatives to things, i realized pretty much everywhere sucks. even neocities has some bitcoin bullshit going on on their donate page. but this proved to be the least frustrating site to work with and if it goes up in flames like everything else, i have a whole layout that i can move somewhere else. so here i am. for now.
right now this looks like my main site, but it's actually meant to be just a small part. i wanted to work on this first mostly to have somewhere to post my comics as quick as possible, but also to dip my toes back into coding with a sort of small project. the layout for this blog, zonelets, has been so helpful for that. it's perfect for this blog and it's helped me work out a bit how i want to structure my main site. i'll eventually move everything to a subsection of my main site, but once again, here it is. for now.
The Goal / Road So Far...
i've edited the rules a little, for one, i'm allowing myself a little extra time each day to add certain effects and text, it can be a hassle sometimes to format the text properly and i want to make sure everything's legible 🫶 (at the time of typing this, i'm now using my own handwritten font, but the formatting bit still stands). i'm also going to split up later comics and work on them over 2 days instead of 1, where half of the time (day 1) is spent writing the comic and the other half (day 2) is spent drawing. comics will go from being dailies, to every other day, to weeklies i imagine. i'm not sure just yet what my cap will be, but i'm thinking around 40-50 minutes will be the most time i'll spend on making these comics.
some comics will have storylines, some won't, it just depends on whatever i feel like working on that day. since i'll jump around a bit, comics with storylines will have their own archive, where it's easier to read them from beginning to end.
i think that pretty much sums up what i'm doing here, if i think of something else to add i'll come back and edit this~
